A EDUCAÇÃO METODISTA E CORO DA UNIMEP: UM OLHAR PARA A SUBJETIVIDADE DOS QUE POR ELE PASSARAM

Resumo
Este trabalho toma como objeto de estudo a educação metodista e, de forma mais específica, tem como objetivo apreender indícios acerca da formação da subjetividade pela experiência do canto coral na Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (Unimep). Esta pesquisa justifica-se por acreditar que a arte é potencialmente forte como processo educativo e, por isso mesmo, constitutiva de subjetividades. Acredita-se também que o coro Unimep contribuiu para a busca da identidade metodista brasileira, de forma especial na cidade de Piracicaba, Estado de São Paulo. Para tanto, apresenta-se o nascedouro do movimento metodista, aponta-se sua passagem pelos Estados Unidos e a chegada do metodismo em terras brasileiras. Ademais, busca-se compreender o contexto da criação da referida Universidade, bem como algumas considerações sobre a criação do coro Unimep. Adotou-se, como referencial teórico, a perspectiva histórico-cultural do desenvolvimento humano de Vigotski, a qual postula a natureza social e histórica do desenvolvimento humano como um processo cultural e semiótico. Metodologicamente, optou-se pela produção dos dados por meio de questionários enviados e recebidos via e-mail. Procurou-se trabalhar com a possibilidade ou não de que os respondentes pudessem estabelecer alguma relação de que a prática do canto coral, como atividade artística, possibilitaria, pela relação estabelecida com o(s) outro(s) e com produtos culturais artísticos, uma fértil fonte de sentidos e significados, contribuindo assim para a formação do(s) sujeito(s). De acordo com os resultados obtidos, observou-se as evidências dos enunciados sobre a motivação para ingresso e permanência no coro Unimep. Verificou-se também a possível relação entre memória e memória afetiva, ou seja, aquela vivenciada a partir da experiência estética. Outro ponto de destaque foi a apresentação da seleção de alguns relatos evidenciando as conexões estabelecidas pelos respondentes sobre a experiência vivenciada no referido coro e sua relação com outros aspectos da vida. As análises permitiram identificar a contribuição do canto coral para a constituição da subjetividade. Diante do exposto, assumiu-se a música como uma forma de linguagem, bem como uma concepção enunciativo-discursiva da linguagem.
Abstract
This work has as objective to study the Methodist education and, more specifically, aims at to apprehend grasp traces about the subjectivity formation through the choral singing experience in the Methodist University of Piracicaba (Unimep). This research is justified by the understanding that art is potentially strong as educational process and, therefore, constitutive of subjectivities. It is also believed that the choir Unimep contributed to the pursuit of the Brazilian Methodist identity, especially in Piracicaba city, State of Sao Paulo. Moreover it presents the birthplace of the Methodist movement, it is points its passage by the United States and the arrival of Methodism in Brazilian lands. Furthermore, we seek to understand the context of the creation of this University, as well as some considerations about the creation of the choir Unimep. It was adopted as a theoretical framework, the Vygotsky historical and cultural perspective of human development, which postulates the social and historical nature of human development as a cultural and semiotic process. Methodologically, we chose the production data through questionnaires sent and received through email. We tried to work with or without the possibility that respondents could establish some relation to the practice of choral singing as artistic activity, would allow by the relationship established with the other (s) peoples and with artistic and cultural products, fertile source of senses and meanings, thus contributing to the formation of subject (s). According to the results, there was evidence of statements about the motivation to enter and remain in the choir Unimep. There was also a possible relationship between memory and affective memory, that is, that experienced from the aesthetic experience. Another highlight was the presentation of the selection of some reports evidencing the connections established by the respondents about the lived experience in that choir and its relation to other aspects of life. The analysis allows identifying the contribution of choral singing for the constitution of subjectivity. Given the above, took up music as a form of language, as well as declarative-discursive language conception.
