Resumo
Tratamos, neste trabalho, da Escola Técnica de Comércio Doutor Fernando Costa, no município paulista de Pirassununga, em um período de sua trajetória histórica, por meio de fontes bibliográfica, documental e jornalística. Neste estudo, pretendemos compreender as repercussões de sua existência na comunidade de Pirassununga. A análise desta questão constitui-se no objetivo geral da investigação, com os seguintes objetivos específicos: apresentar breves aspectos históricos da evolução da educação técnica comercial no Brasil; a oficialização desta modalidade de educação; e, por fim, analisar a criação e fundação da Escola Técnica de Comércio Doutor Fernando Costa e alguns fatos de seu percurso histórico de quase 60 anos. O primeiro capítulo deste trabalho apresenta fatos históricos políticos e econômicos, da colonização brasileira até a chegada da Família Real para o Brasil em 1808. Fatos que guardam alguma relação com a educação comercial. No segundo capítulo, tratamos da oficialização da educação técnica comercial no Brasil, no período republicano com o governo de Getúlio Vargas. No terceiro capítulo, abordamos de forma específica fragmentos do itinerário da Escola Técnica de Comércio Doutor Fernando Costa. A definição para investigarmos esta instituição escolar decorreu de ter sido a única Escola de Comércio em Pirassununga, com origem da iniciativa particular, para manter no período noturno o curso comercial oficial. Com o objetivo de oferecer oportunidade de estudar e conseguir uma formação profissional para muitas pessoas que trabalhavam durante o dia. Para esta investigação foram privilegiados alguns fatos com possibilidades de contribuir na análise em foco. Portanto, este estudo pretende contribuir, de alguma forma, para o conhecimento da história da educação técnica comercial no Brasil e no resgate de parte da memória desta instituição escolar no quadro da educação de Pirassununga.
Abstract
We deal in this paper, the Technical School of Commerce “Dr. Fernando Costa”, in the city of Pirassununga - São Paulo, in a period of its historical trajectory through bibliographic, documentary and journalistic sources. In this study, we aim to understand the repercussions of its existence in the community of Pirassununga. The analysis of this question constitutes the general purpose of the research, with the following specific goals: to present brief historical aspects of the evolution of technical business education in Brazil; the officialization of this type of education and finally, to analyze the creation and foundation of the Technical School of Commerce “Dr. Fernando Costa” and some facts of its historic journey of nearly 60 years. The first chapter of this study presents historical political and economic facts of the Brazilian colonization until the arrival of the Royal Family to Brazil in 1808. Facts that keep some relationship with the business education. In the second chapter, we treat the formalization of technical business education in Brazil, during the Republican administration of President Getúlio Vargas. In the third chapter, we discuss in a specific way fragments of the itinerary of the Technical School of Commerce “Dr. Fernando Costa”. The definition for us to investigate this educational institution was due to the fact that it has been the only Business School in Pirassununga, originating from private initiative, to keep the business official course in the evening. In order to offer the opportunity to study and achieve professional graduation for many people who worked during the day. For this investigation some facts were favored with possibilities of contributing to the analysis in focus. Therefore, this study aims to contribute in some way, to the knowledge of the history of technical education business in Brazil and in the rescue of part of the memory of this institution in the context of education in Pirassununga.
