Resumo
A Agricultura Familiar vem despertando muito interesse no atual contexto
brasileiro, tanto por parte do governo, como por parte das empresas de
comercialização de produtos agrícolas. Diante disto este trabalho analisa a
importância desta modalidade para o segmento agrícola e a participação dentro
da mesma no setor primário. São analisados também os modelos de produção
agrícola desenvolvidos dentro desta modalidade de produção, que tem sido
vista como instrumento de sustentabilidade local, a partir de sistemas de
produção intensivos e alternativos, capazes de promover o fortalecimento
econômico e social nos municípios de São Roque e Ibiúna no Estado de São
Paulo. Para situar a importância desta modalidade é feita uma análise da
estrutura fundiária ao longo da história brasileira e sua influência na
concentração de terra, com implicações nas lutas de movimentos sociais como
o MST. Discute-se ainda, neste trabalho formas para que o agricultor possa se
manter num mercado competitivo, como as associações, cooperativas para que
possam enfrentar a concorrência mercadológica. Trata-se de um estudo
exploratório, envolvendo pesquisas e entrevistas junto aos produtores e demais
entidades representativas da sociedade agrícola na região de São Roque e
Ibiúna, no Estado de São Paulo.
Abstract
The Family Agriculture is arousing a lot of interest in the current Brazilian
context, so much on the part of the government as on the part of the companies
of commercialization of agricultural products. Due to this, the present works
seeks to analyze the importance of this modality for the agricultural segment
and its participation in the primary sector. Models of agricultural production are
also developed inside this production modality which has been seen as an
instrument of local sustainability, starting from intensive and alternative
production systems, capable of promoting the economical and social
invigoration in the municipal districts of São Roque and Ibiúna in the State of
São Paulo. To determine the importance of this modality it is made an analysis
of the agrarian concentration, with implications in the fights of social
movements, such as the MST (Movimento dos Sem-Terra). It is also discussed
in this study what forms farmers can use to stay in a competitive market, such
as the associations, the cooperatives, so that they can face the market
competition. This work intends to be an exploratory study involving researches
and interviews along with producers and other representative entities of the
agricultural society in São Roque’s and Ibiúna’s regions in the State of São
Paulo.
