Resumo
Um passeio pela história da humanidade, relatando aquilo que é característico do ser humano: a construção de cultura e um dos seus inventos mais importantes: as letras. Contudo, antes delas aparecerem como formas de manifestação das vivências humanas, a humanidade já se revelava através de outros dizeres, como entalhes, gravuras, pinturas, etc. Dizeres estes que não desaparecem com o advento da escrita, mas continuam a existir nas manifestações artísticas da humanidade. Cabe à história ampliar seu conceito de documento para entendê-los como parte integrante da história humana. No Ocidente, as letras foram fundamentais na construção de uma cultura que perpassa toda a história do pensamento e que determinou uma leitura do real, baseada numa racionalidade instrumentalizada por uma sociedade mercantil e expansionista. Esta expansão representou um domínio territorial e espiritual. A crítica a esta racionalidade é o caminho de libertação da razão pela razão. Esta liberdade, porém, só é possível no diálogo em igualdade com o diferente; cada um tendo condições de se expressar com seus próprios termos, palavras e significados.
Abstract
A stroll through the history of humanity, reporting what is unique to humans: the construction of culture through one of its most important inventions: the letters. However, before they appear as manifestations of human experiences, humanity has already revealed through other sayings, such as slots, prints, paintings, etc. Saying they will not disappear with the advent of writing, but still exist in the artistic manifestations of humanity. It is up to history to expand its concept paper to understand them as an integral part of human history. In the West, the letters were instrumental in building a culture that permeates the entire history of thought and determined that a reading of reality, based on instrumental rationality by a merchant and expansionist society. This expansion was a territorial and spiritual domain. The criticism of this rationality is the path of liberation of the reason why. This freedom, however, is only possible in equality in dialogue with the different; each having conditions to express themselves on their own terms, words and meanings.
