Resumo
O investimento em infraestrutura tem se tornado um fator essencial para o aquecimento econômico mundial, afim de alavancar o crescimento dos países. Entretanto, compreende-se que as empresas de engenharia, especializadas não só neste segmento, mas como no de construção, de plantas industriais, papel e celulose, energia, mineração e no de petróleo e gás, enfrentam diferentes complexidades e incertezas em todas as etapas do projeto. Para estes fins, os projetos por sua vez, são denominados por Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), que representam uma modalidade contratual crescente no mercado. Por se tratar de grandes projetos que envolvem altos custos, longa duração e três interfaces distintas, as empresas de engenharia necessitam sempre buscar novos métodos e conhecimentos em gerenciamento de projetos, para obter sucesso na entrega de seus empreendimentos. Neste viés, este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender a influência de práticas da gestão do conhecimento (PGCs) na obtenção de sucesso de projetos do tipo EPC, em empresas brasileiras de engenharia. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa survey com a participação de 94 profissionais da área de gerenciamento de projetos. Estes por sua vez, analisaram as 37 PGCs pré definidas neste estudo, associando-as com as dimensões de sucesso do modelo teórico também proposto por este trabalho. Os resultados da regressão logística determinaram que 21 PGCs possuem relevante significância para cada uma das dimensões, e 15 contribuem para o sucesso de projeto do tipo EPC. Assim, do ponto de vista científico, os resultados obtidos neste trabalho ampliam a compreensão sobre o tema estudado e oferecem do ponto de vista profissional a oportunidade de aplicar melhorias por meio das PGCs identificadas, apoiando assim, a tomada de decisão por parte de gerentes deste tipo de projeto.
Abstract
Investment in infrastructure has become a key fator in the economic global warming, in order to leverage the growth of countries. However, engineering firms segments such as construction, industrial plants, pulp and paper, power, mining and oil and gas face different complexities and uncertainties in all stages of their projects. For these purposes, the projects are named for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), which represent a growing type of contract in the market. Are large projects that involve high costs, long and three different interfaces, engineering companies always need to find new methods and knowledge in project management, for successful delivery of its projects. Therefore, this study aims to understand the influence of knowledge management practices (KMPs) in obtaining success of EPC projects in Brazilian engineering companies. So, one survey research with the participation of 94 professionals in project management area was held. Which, they analyzed 37 pre KMPs defined in this study, associating them with the theoretical model of success dimensions also proposed by this work. The results of logistic regression determined that 21 KMPs have important significance for each dimension, and 15 contribute to the success of this type of project. So from a scientific point of view, the results of this study extend the understanding of the subject studied and offer the professional point of view the opportunity to apply improvements through identified PGC sand thereby help the decision making by managers of this type of project.
