EDUCAÇÃO E ADMINISTRAÇÃO NO SÉCULO XVI: Princípios Administrativos e a Liderança nos Colégios da Companhia de Jesus

Resumo
O desenvolvimento dessa tese objetivou explicitar como se dava a Administração e o governo das casas, colégios, províncias da Companhia de Jesus. Bem como, de que forma a obediência possibilitava a liderança e o trabalho colegiado, mesmo parecendo situações conflitantes. A metodologia adotada para a realização da mesma foi a revisão de literatura, baseada em documentos da Companhia, em especial as Constituições e o Ratio Studiorum, bem como de textos clássicos e contemporâneos. Destacamos que, apesar de centralizado e hierarquizado, o governo pelos Superiores e pelo Geral da Companhia sugeria, mais que impunhaa autoridade. Na realidade, essa hierarquia explicita-se como uma forma organizativa. E a obediência, um dos pilares da Companhia, fulcrou o sucesso do desenvolvimento da missão apostólica pelos quatro cantos do planeta posto que todos trabalharam para o mesmo fim – a Maior Glória de Deus. Mas, essa mesma obediência não engessava a atuação de seus membros. Conforme será explicado, a estruturação da forma de governar, da comunicação horizontal e vertical, da criação de documentação e escrituração, bem como de grêmios consultivos – as Congregações sugerem o desenvolvimento coletivo de estruturas administrativas que, ainda hoje são utilizadas, não somente na área educativa, mas também nas organizações econômicas. Inicialmente, realizou-se uma contextualização da Companhia no Portugal seiscentista, para que se pudesse compreender que a sociedade cristã estava posta daquela forma, não havia por que se questionar a obediência e a hierarquia, visto que era como Deus organizava o Universo. No segundo capítulo tratamos da estruturação da missão educativa através da análise do Ratio e das Constituições, tratando do governo, liderança e hierarquia nos colégios. No último capítulo, abrimos o leque e através da leitura das Constituições e outros documentos, para ampliarmos o panorama acerca da liderança e governo jesuítico em outras esferas. Ao final entendemos que a administração e o governo dos jesuítas possuem muitos pontos de contato com as estruturas de organizações contemporâneas, porém afirmar que as mesmas se baseiam em suas normas e práticas não é possível.
Abstract
The development of this thesis aimed to explain how was the Administration and the Government in the Houses, Schools and Provinces of the Company of Jesus. As well as how obedience enabled the leadership and collective work, seemingly conflicting situations. The methodology used to perform this thesis was the literature review, based on the Company's documents, especially the Constitutions and the Ratio Studiorum, as well as classic and contemporary reviews. We emphasize that despite centralized and hierarchical the government by Superiors and by the Company's General suggested, more than impose the authority. In fact this hierarchy could be explicated like forms of organization. And obedience, one of the Company's pillars, could be the responsible for the successful development of the apostolic mission at the four corners of the planet, it put all Jesuits to work for the same purpose - the Greater Glory of God. As will be explained, the structure of the form of government, the horizontal and vertical communication, the creation of documentation and records, as well as advisory unions - Congregations suggest the collective development of administrative structures that are still used not only in the area educational but also in productive organizations. Initially, we can see Portugal in the XVI century to understand in this context that the Christian society and the Jesuits was set that way, there was no reason to question the obedience and hierarchy, it was how God organized the Universe. In the second chapter dealt with the structure of the educational mission, we analyze the Ratio and the Constitutions, dealing with government, leadership and hierarchy in schools. In the last chapter, we open the range and reading the Constitutions and other documents, we broaden the picture about the leadership and Jesuit government in other spheres. At the end we understand that the administration and the government of the Jesuits have many points of contact with the contemporary organizational structures, but to state that the contemporary Administration is based on their rules and practices is not possible.
