Resumo
Este trabalho procura compreender o desenvolvimento do conceito de educação
pública em Rousseau ao longo de algumas de suas obras. Apresentaremos a
noção de educação natural no Discurso Sobre as Ciências e as Artes e no
Discurso Sobre a Origem e os Fundamentos da Desigualdade Entre os Homens.
Discutiremos o conceito de educação da sociedade desenvolvido no Emílio ou
da Educação e no Do Contrato Social. O tema da educação pública será
desenvolvido nas Considerações Sobre o Governo da Polônia e sua Reforma
Projetada e no Discurso Sobre Economia Política. Visando compreender os
princípios da educação pública em Rousseau, faremos uma análise bibliográfica,
perpassando aquelas obras e os debates pelos quais foram submetidas ao longo
dos anos por seus comentadores. Analisaremos a questão da impossibilidade
da formação do homem e do cidadão ao mesmo tempo, tema este que está
contido em todos os textos de Rousseau. Indicaremos como na perspectiva de
Rousseau a educação pública é fundamental à formação de cidadãos para a
construção da sociedade civil e do Estado no período pré-Revolução Francesa.
Abstract
This paper tries to understand the development of the concept of public education
in Rousseau during some of his works. We will present the notion of natural
education in the Discourse on the Sciences and the Arts and the Discourse on
the Origin and Grounds of Inequality Among Men. We will discuss the concept of
education of society developed in Emílio or Education and in the Social Contract.
The theme of public education will be developed in the Considerations on the
Government of Poland and its Projected Reform and in the Discourse on Political
Economy. In order to understand specifically the principles of public education in
Rousseau, we will make a bibliographical analysis, going through those works
and the main debates for which they have been submitted over the years by their
main commentators. We will analyze the question of the impossibility of the
formation of man and of the citizen at the same time, a subject that is contained
in all the texts of Rousseau. We will show how in Rousseau's perspective public
education is fundamental to the formation of citizens for the construction of civil
society and the state in the pre-French Revolution.
