Resumo
A presente dissertação pesquisa a gestão na Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (UNIMEP), considerando o contexto da Reforma do Estado. A pesquisa se desenvolveu a partir do levantamento das características da instituição: histórico, identidade e cultura institucional. O referencial teórico de análise baseou-se nos estudos sobre a Reforma do Estado brasileiro e em autores que abordam temas afins ao objeto de investigação. Partiu-se do pressuposto de que as bases teóricas das mudanças na instituição pesquisada são as mesmas da Reforma do Estado nacional e estão em conformidade com as demandas do contexto de mundialização do capital. A sistematização das leituras expressas nos capítulos apresentados aponta para um processo de mudança na identidade da UNIMEP que se distancia de suas bases teóricas originárias evidenciadas nos documentos orientadores de sua política educacional, sendo eles: o Plano para a Vida e Missão da Igreja Metodista e o Diretrizes para a Educação na Igreja Metodista. O novo modelo de gestão desta Universidade está sendo reconstruído a partir do modelo gerencial, com a criação de rede institucional e centralização de decisões. Esse processo tem implicações na autonomia da Universidade.
Abstract
The present dissertation research management at the Methodist University of Piracicaba (UNIMEP) consider the context of the State Reform. The research developed from the survey of the characteristics of the institution: history, identify and institutional culture. The theoretical reference of analysis was based on studies on the Brazilian State Reform and on authors who approach themes correlated to the object of investigation. From the assumption of which the theoretical bases of changes in the research institution are the same as those of the National State Reform and are in accordance with the demands of the context of the globalization of capital. The systematization of the express readings on chapters presented point to a process of change on the identity of UNIMEP that distance of the basic theoretical originating highlighted in the documents guiding of their educational policy, they are the life and vision plan of the Methodist Church and the guidelines to the Education in the Methodist Church. The new model of the management from this University is being rebuild from of the model management, with the creation of the institution chain and centralization of decisions. This process has implications in the autonomy of the University.
