Resumo
O presente trabalho insere-se na discussão sobre ética no fazer tradutório do intérprete de língua de sinais. Esta tese investiga como o tradutor e intérprete de língua de sinais faz suas escolhas linguísticas durante o ato interpretativo e como resolve as questões éticas que emergem na sala de aula. O presente trabalho consta de um conjunto de três vídeos de tradução da língua de sinais em sala de aula e três entrevistas com os intérpretes que realizaram a tradução. As interpretações analisadas ocorrem em diferentes níveis de ensino: médio, especialização e mestrado. Como suporte teórico, utilizo as concepções pós-estruturalistas sobre tradução e a concepção de ética em Enrique Dussel e Bakhtin.
Abstract
This work is part of the discussion on the sign language interpreter’s ethics in their translational work. This thesis investigates how sign language translators and interpreters make their linguistic choices during the interpretive act and how they approach the ethical issues that arise within the classroom. This work consists of a set of three videos of sign language translation in the classroom and three interviews with the interpreters who performed the translation. The analyzed interpretations occur at different levels of education: high school, specialization, and graduation. The study is theoretically based on poststructuralist concepts on translation and the concepts of ethics by Enrique Dussel and Bakhtin.
