Resumo
Nos últimos anos o Brasil foi sede de diversos megaeventos. Os megaeventos esportivos contemporâneos têm como características o grande número de pessoas envolvidas, a visibilidade mundial do país e cidade sede, os altos investimentos para sua realização e a grande transformação estrutural pela qual a cidade anfitriã irá se submeter, causando grandes modificações nos contextos sociais, culturais e estruturais. Tais investimentos e reestruturações podem trazer impactos e legados sociais tanto positivos como negativos, podendo estar associados a estratégias para a promoção de uma maior qualidade de vida da população do país e da cidade sede, desde que, suas ações estejam orientadas pelas necessidades da cidade e da população mais pobre e vulnerável socialmente, como em regiões carentes de recursos. Nesse sentido, a realização de megaeventos esportivos pode significar um maior número de investimentos, porém podem representar também oportunidades de conquista dos direitos sociais por parte da população, assim como uma maior democratização acerca do tema, sobre seus possíveis impactos e legados sociais e a criação e o aprimoramento de políticas públicas de esporte e lazer. Portanto, este trabalho tem como objetivos: 1) Identificar e analisar a produção bibliográfica referente aos Jogos Olímpicos de 2016; 2) Identificar e analisar os significados e os legados sociais positivos e negativos em função da realização dos Jogos Olímpicos 2016 para professores de cursos de graduação em Educação Física que atuam em instituições localizadas no município do Rio de Janeiro. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa. Realizamos pesquisa bibliográfica e pesquisa de campo, nesta última utilizamos a técnica de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Da pesquisa bibliográfica emergiram 5 tópicos principais: 1) Megaeventos esportivos; 2) Megaeventos esportivos, reestruturação urbana e a produção do espaço: posicionamento da cidade sede num contexto global neoliberal; 3) Megaeventos esportivos: impactos e legados sociais; 4) Megaeventos esportivos: impactos e legados sociais para o esporte, lazer e atividade física; e 5) Motivações para realizar megaeventos esportivos e o caso dos Jogos Olímpicos 2016. Na pesquisa de campo, entrevistamos 8 professores que atuam no ensino superior em Educação Física da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Os achados indicam que os professores atribuem significados tanto positivos como negativos da realização dos Jogos Olímpicos 2016, sendo que, a visibilidade do país foi a mais mencionada como positivo e a falta de legado o significado negativo mais destacado. A infraestrutura e a mobilidade foram mencionadas como principais legados positivos e a falta de legado foi o principal legado negativo. Os professores mencionaram momentos marcantes positivos e negativos da realização dos Jogos Olímpicos 2016. Para os entrevistados não houve aumento da prática de lazer, esporte e atividade física em função dos Jogos Olímpicos 2016, e são mencionados alguns avanços e problemas relacionados às políticas públicas de esporte e lazer.
Abstract
In recent years, Brazil has hosted several mega events. Contemporary sporting mega events are characterized by the large number of people involved, the world visibility of the country and host city, the high investments for its realization and the major structural transformation that the host city will undergo, causing major changes in social contexts, cultural and structural. Such investments and restructuring can bring both positive and negative impacts and social legacies, and may be associated with strategies to promote a better quality of life for the population of the country and the host city, provided that their actions are guided by the needs of the city and of the poorest and most socially vulnerable population, as in resource-poor regions. In this sense, holding Sporting mega events can mean a greater number of investments, but they can also represent opportunities for the population to conquer social rights, as well as greater democratization on the subject, on its possible impacts and social legacies and the creation and the improvement of public sports and leisure policies. Therefore, this work aims to: 1) Identify and analyze the bibliographic production related to the 2016 Olympic Games; 2) Identify and analyze the meanings and positive and negative social legacies due to the holding of the 2016 Olympic Games for teachers of undergraduate courses in Physical Education who work in institutions located in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is a qualitative research. We carry out bibliographic research and field research, in the latter we use the technique of semi-structured interviews. From the bibliographic research, 5 main topics emerged: 1) Mega sporting events; 2) Mega sporting events, urban restructuring and the production of space: positioning the host city in a global neo-liberal context; 3) Sports mega-events: impacts and social legacies; 4) Sports mega-events: impacts and social legacies for sport, leisure and physical activity; and 5) Motivations for holding mega sporting events and the case of the 2016 Olympic Games. In the field research, we interviewed 8 teachers who work in higher education in Physical Education in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The findings indicate that teachers attribute both positive and negative meanings of the 2016 Olympic Games, with the country's visibility being the most mentioned as positive and the lack of legacy as the most prominent negative meaning. Infrastructure and mobility were mentioned as the main positive legacies and the lack of legacy was the main negative legacy. The teachers mentioned significant positive and negative moments of the 2016 Olympic Games. For the interviewees, there was no increase in the practice of leisure, sport and physical activity due to the 2016 Olympic Games, and some advances and problems related to public sports policies are mentioned. and leisure.
