Resumo
Esta tese tem por objetivo compreender, a partir da organização do catálogo da epistolografia comeniana em períodos referentes à sua vida, as redes de relações estabelecidas por jan Amos Comenius, com vistas à compreensão do papel dessas cartas no trabalho intelectual e na vida do educador theco (1592-1670). Este trabalho tem por escopo organizar, em língua portuguesa, uma leitura do catálogo da epistolografia comeniana que permita novas pesquisas sobre Comenius a partir da inserção de sua produção escrita em um trabalho intelectual que se dava por meio de cartas; e por objeto, a catalogação das cartas desse educador, do site EMLO (Early Modern Letters Online) e a observação do trabalho de um educador e intelectual do século XVII. Para tanto, foi realizada a revisão bibliográfica das obras de Comenius e seus comentadores, assim como o levantamento de alguns artigos em inglês sobre o autor, e a catalogação e a tradução dos resumos das cartas da coleção de Comenius do site EMLO, o diferencial deste trabalho. Nessa catalogação, dividiu-se as cartas por períodos históricos vividos por Comenius e suas fases. Sobre cada período foi feita a contextualização histórica, da macro e micro-história, sendo possível determinar obras e acontecimentos como marcos principais para determinar os relacionamentos, sujeitos, ideias e temas centrais das cartas. Dentro da perspectiva de Le Goff (2013), determinar a história em períodos, partes, pedaços, fatias é necessário para podermos ver e entender as continuidades e rupturas que determinaram o caminho da humanidade. Nos resumos das cartas, sua rede de relações e sociabilidade (SIRINELLI, 2003) foi analisada, saindo da lógica de apenas pesquisar as obras de Comenius. A rede de relações comenianas, assim como de outros intelectuais, era essencial para a divulgação de seus trabalhos, suas pesquisas, e também, para ajuda mútua. Foi percebido que Comenius teve três redes de relações. A rede de relações da União dos Irmãos Morávios, a rede de relações do círculo de Hartlib, a qual o ajudou a produzir, escrever, imprimir e publicar suas obras e a rede de relações com a Família De Geer, que sempre patrocinou e colaborou com Comenius e com seus amigos e Irmãos. Comenius tratou em suas redes de questões eclesiásticas, diplomáticas e políticas. Na última fase da vida de Comenius, observa-se que ele almejava a paz entre os povos e deixar seu legado para a humanidade, e as três redes de relações e preocupações se entrelaçaram.
Abstract
This thesis aims to understand, from the organization of the catalog of Comenian epistolography in periods related to his life, the networks of relationships established by Comenius, in order to understand the role of these letters in the intellectual work and in the life of Comenius (1592- 1670). This work aims to provide, in Portuguese, the reading of the catalog of the Comenian epistolography to allow possible new research on Comenius from the insertion of his written production in an intellectual work that took place through letters; and by object, this study aims to catalogue the Comenian letters from the EMLO website (Early Modern Letters Online) and to highlight the work of an educator and intellectual from the 17th century. For this purpose, a bibliographic review of the works of Comenius and his commentators was carried out, as well as the survey of some articles in English about the author, also the cataloging and translation of the summaries of the letters in the Comenius collection on the EMLO website. In this cataloging, the letters were divided by historical periods and phases experienced by Comenius. The macro and micro-history contextualization were done over each period, making it possible to determine works and events as the main milestones to determine the relationships, subjects, ideas and central themes of the letters. From the perspective of Le Goff (2013), determining history in periods, parts, pieces, slices is necessary to enable the understanding of the continuities and ruptures that determined the path of humanity. In the summaries of the letters, Comenius’ network of relationships and sociability (SIRINELLI, 2003) was analyzed, leaving aside the logic of just researching his works. The network of commenian relations, as well as that of other intellectuals, was essential for the dissemination of their work, their research, and also for mutual help. It was noticed that Comenius had three networks of relationships. The relationship network of the União dos Irmãos Morávios, the relationship network of Hartlib circle, which helped him to produce, write, print and publish his works and the relationship network with the De Geer Family, which has always sponsored and collaborated with Comenius and his friends and Brothers. Comenius dealt with ecclesiastical, diplomatic and political issues in his networks. In the last phase of Comenius’ life, it is observed that he longed for peace between peoples and leaving his legacy to humanity, and the three networks of relationships and concerns intertwined.
