Resumo
A pesquisa aqui apresentada foi construída com base em minha trajetória acadêmica e pelas contribuições daqueles que ajudam a constituir o pesquisador desse trabalho. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo principal, apresentar, discutir e analisar as causas principais que tiveram como efeito a construção da Política de Extensão da Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba- UNIMEP, retomando a questão da confessionalidade, expressa nos documentos oficiais da Igreja Metodista, como motor principal (e não único) deste percurso. Neste contexto, a investigação perpassa pela história da Extensão Universitária desde quando surgiu até chegar a UNIMEP, sendo analisado todo o processo de construção da Extensão dentro da Instituição até sua oficialização na Política Acadêmica da Instituição e também abordamos alguns trabalhos extensionistas desenvolvidos após a aprovação da Política Acadêmica da UNIMEP, mais precisamente aqueles desenvolvidos no Núcleo de Estudos e Programas de Educação Popular (NEPEP). É feito um estudo da relação da Extensão Universitária com a Educação em Direitos Humanos e a potencialidade da Extensão, como elo entre a Educação Formal e a Educação Não-Formal, num contexto de educação para a cidadania, formando profissionais de fato preocupados com as questões sociais de sua cidade, região e país, contribuindo para que outros sejam emancipados para a cidadania, numa relação de interação dialógica entre Universidade e Comunidade, em que a primeira reconhece a importância dos movimentos sociais, proporcionando estratégias para fortalecê-lo. O estudo procura compreender as influências da Igreja Metodista para a construção da Extensão na UNIMEP e até que ponto as contradições da sua história e de seus documentos contribuíram para a (des) construção do processo de formação da Política de Extensão. Além disso, pretende-se proporcionar, ainda, uma reflexão sobre a importância da Extensão Universitária como processo acadêmico indispensável na formação do estudante, na qualificação do professor e no diálogo com a sociedade, especialmente no que tange a solução de problemas sociais do país. A pesquisa revelou a necessidade de tratamento analítico para os projetos de Extensão na UNIMEP, voltados para a Educação Popular, entre os anos de 1993 até 2018, com isso, este estudo pretende construir um material sistematizado destes trabalhos extensionistas no período indicado. Para alcançar tais objetivos da pesquisa optamos pela análise documental, com a ajuda da matriz materialista histórica e dialética de Marx e Engels, por analisar os fatos históricos em processo, e a partir daí, fazer uma análise interpretativa para compreender os significados e os sentidos da extensão universitária expressos nos textos (documentos, pesquisas e registros); e por meio das entrevistas e vídeos disponibilizados na Internet, principalmente, pelo programa UNIMEP na Comunidade, com os sujeitos que participaram do processo de (des)construção da Extensão Universitária da UNIMEP, construir a visão da Educação Popular abordada pela Política Acadêmica da UNIMEP, com fins a construção da cidadania enquanto patrimônio coletivo da sociedade civil.
Abstract
The research presented here was built on the basis of my academic trajectory and the contributions of those who help to constitute the researcher of this work. The main objective of this research is to present, discuss and analyze the main causes that had as an effect the construction of the Extension Policy of the Methodist University of Piracicaba-UNIMEP, taking up the issue of confessionality, expressed in the official documents of the Methodist Church, as the main engine. (and not unique) of this route. In this context, the investigation goes through the history of the University Extension from when it emerged until it reached UNIMEP, analyzing the entire process of construction of the Extension within the Institution until its officialization in the Academic Policy of the Institution and we also approached some extension works developed after the approval of the UNIMEP Academic Policy, more precisely those developed at the Center for Studies and Popular Education Programs (NEPEP). A study is made of the relationship between University Extension and Human Rights Education and the potential of Extension, as a link between Formal Education and Non-Formal Education, in a context of education for citizenship, training professionals who are actually concerned with the issues of their city, region and country, helping others to be emancipated for citizenship, in a relationship of dialogic interaction between University and Community, in which the former recognizes the importance of social movements, providing strategies to strengthen them. The study seeks to understand the influences of the Methodist Church for the construction of the Extension at UNIMEP and to what extent the contradictions of its history and documents contributed to the (de)construction of the process of formation of the Extension Policy. In addition, it is also intended to provide a reflection on the importance of University Extension as an essential academic process in student training, teacher qualification and dialogue with society, especially regarding the solution of social problems in the country. The research revealed the need for an analytical treatment for the Extension projects at UNIMEP, aimed at Popular Education, between the years 1993 to 2018, with this, this study intends to build a systematized material of these extension works in the indicated period. To achieve these research objectives, we opted for document analysis, with the help of Marx and Engels' historical and dialectical materialist matrix, to analyze the historical facts in process, and from there, make an interpretive analysis to understand the meanings and senses of the university extension expressed in the texts (documents, research and records); and through interviews and videos made available on the Internet, mainly by the UNIMEP in the Community program, with the subjects who participated in the process of (de)construction of the University Extension of UNIMEP, to build the vision of Popular Education addressed by the Academic Policy of UNIMEP, with the aim of building citizenship as a collective heritage of civil society.
