A SIGNIFICAÇÃO DA GAGUEIRA NAS RELAÇÕES SOCIAIS DE ADOLESCENTES GAGOS

Resumo
O presente trabalho tem por objetivo discutir a significação da gagueira nas relações sociais de adolescentes gagos, a partir de seus próprios discursos. O referencial teórico assumido é o históricocultural, que concebe a constituição do sujeito sempre sob determinadas condições sociais, portanto, materiais, e sempre como resultado da atividade de gerações anteriores, por isso histórico. São trazidos autores dessa abordagem para discutir a linguagem e a adolescência. A linguagem é tomada enquanto atividade mental superior, constitutiva dos sujeitos e gerada nas relações sociais. A adolescência é vista como produto de um processo histórico, gerado por fatos sociais ocorridos nas relações sociais, com repercussões psicológicas, que passam a adquirir um significado social. A gagueira é entendida como uma situação de fala, cuja fluência apresenta-se alterada, e que é estigmatizada socialmente, gerando sofrimento no sujeito por interferir em suas relações de comunicação. A visão de gagueira utilizada é de Friedman, que considera que esse padrão de fala marca na subjetividade do sujeito gago uma imagem de falante associada a emoções negativas que vão acompanhá-lo em todas as situações de comunicação. O estudo envolveu entrevistas semiestruturadas com adolescentes gagos, tendo como ponto central das conversas as experiências dos sujeitos nas suas relações sociais, especialmente a família, escola, amigos e trabalho. A partir dasentrevistas, alguns eixos temáticos foram delineados e o material foi organizado segundo esses eixos. Como eixos principais de análises têm-se: - a gagueira e a constituição social do sujeito - onde se discute também, relações sociais, significação, diferentes gagueiras nas diferentes relações, e - ambivalência - que trata de tensão e o lugar que ocupa o sujeito nas relações sociais. Nesse sentido, as falas dos adolescentes gagos reafirmam que o processo de se constituírem socialmente não é singular, ao invés disso, é plural, contínuo e repleto de ambivalências. Essa forma de olhar o adolescente gago pode trazer contribuições não só para a terapia fonoaudiológica, mas, principalmente, para o espaço escolar, locais de trabalho e demais espaços, gerando reflexões a fim de que os olhares que convergem para o adolescente gago sejam capazes de vê-lo em toda sua complexidade e singularidade, e, principalmente, inseridos nas relações sociais.
Abstract
The goal of this present work is to discuss the meaning of stammering in the social relationships of young stammers based on their own discourse. The theoretical reference taken into account is the historical-social, which assumes the individual constitution always under specific social conditions - therefore material - and always as result of activities of past generations – therefore historical. Authors of this approach were brought forth to discuss the language and adolescence. Language is taken as a superior mental activity, innate to individuals and generated in social relationships. Adolescence is seen as product of a historical process, generated by social facts which happened in the social relations, with psychological repercussions, and which assume a social meaning. Stammering is understood as a condition of the speech, in which fluency presents itself modified, causing it to be stigmatized socially, generating suffering in the subject for interfering in his/her relations of communication. The vision of stammering used here is that of Friedman, who considers that this standard of speech marks in the subjectivity of the stammering individual an image of speaker associated with negative emotions that will follow him/her in all his/her communication situations. For this study, semi-structuralized interviews with stammering adolescents have been carried out, having as a focus the experiences of these individuals in their social relationships, especially the family, school, friends and work. From these interviews some thematic axles had been delineated and the material was organized according to these axles. As main axles for the analysis of the collected material, we have: - the stammering and the social constitution of the individual - where it is also argued social relations, meaning, different stammerings in different relationships; - and ambivalence - which deals with the tension and the position that the individual occupies in the social relationship. In this sense, the speeches of the stammering adolescents reaffirm that the process of their social constitution is not singular, on the contrary, it is plural, procedural and filled with ambivalences. This way of looking at the stammering adolescent can not only bring contributions for the speech therapy, but mainly, for the space pertaining to school, workstations and other spaces, fomenting reflections so that the eyes that converge to the stammering adolescent are capable to see him/her in all his/her complexity and singularity, and most importantly, inserted in the social relations.
