Resumo
No presente estudo investigou-se a situação das crianças e adolescentes de 5 a 12 anos de idade em relação ao trabalho infantil doméstico em seus próprios domicílios no município de Araras - SP. Os referenciais teóricos utilizados no texto são oriundos da História e da Psicologia Social. Utilizou-se o método quantitativo para que fosse possível a comparação dos dados e para tentar entender a origem do trabalho infantil na população estudada. Objetivou-se conhecer a importância do trabalho das crianças para suas famílias. Acredita-se que o trabalho infantil doméstico tenha sido o que "restou" para as famílias de baixa renda, considerando o alto nível de desemprego existente no Brasil, que demanda, em muitos casos, o trabalho infantil e favorece a violência urbana, ligados as políticas públicas ineficazes.
Abstract
The present study investigated the situation of children and adolescents, between 5 and 12 years of age, regarding the children’s work in their own households, in the city of Araras, state of SP. The theoretical references used in this text have origin in the History and in the Social Psychology. The quantitative method was used, so that it was possible to compare the data and also to try to understand the origin of the children’s work among the studied population. The aim was the knowledge of the importance of the children’s work to their families. It holds belief that the children’s work was the "only alternative left" to the low budget families, considering the high level of unemployment currently existent in Brazil, which demands, in many cases, the children to work, and endows the urban violence, connected to the ineffective public politics.
