Resumo
Este trabalho propõe a implementação do Planejamento Estratégico em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior confessional, por meio da aplicação da Matriz Boston Consulting Group – BCG em dezoito cursos de graduação, distribuídos em três faculdades da Universidade pesquisada. Durante o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, foram identificados, descritos e analisados os principais conceitos sobre o perfil do Planejamento Estratégico mais utilizado pelas Universidades sem fins lucrativos, bem como foram relatadas as principais dificuldades de implementação. Para atingir os propósitos estabelecidos e para que fosse possível a aplicação da Matriz BCG, foi necessária a realização de uma pesquisa exploratória, a fim de se buscar informações dos cursos analisados tanto na Instituição estudada quanto no INEP/MEC, por meio dos Censos da Educação Superior de 2004 e 2005. Espera-se que os resultados apresentados pela Matriz BCG possam oferecer ao gestor educacional subsídios concretos para a aplicação de estratégias específicas a cada curso analisado dentro de sua respectiva faculdade. Abstract
The present work deal with an implementation of a Strategic Plan at a private University by means of the Boston Consulting Group matrix application – BCG - in eighteen undergraduate courses offered in three Colleges and Faculties at the University locus of this investigation. In this research were focused (1) the main constitutive and most used concepts for a perfile of the Strategic Plans at the University to be identified, described and analyzed and (2) the main difficulties in the implementation with the purpose to be found and also related. In order to reach what was aimed and make possible the application of the BCG matrix, it was necessary to achieve an exploratory initial study to get information about the courses defined to be analyzed as those belong to the referred institution or in official governmental instance INEP/MEC. So, Superior Education census documents from 2004 to 2005 were considered. The results obtained by the application of the BCG matrix can certainly offer useful tools to educational managers make real profit of some applications of specific strategies for each undergraduate course analyzed inside the respective academic unit.
