Resumo
Nos dias atuais, a usabilidade tornou-se um atributo de qualidade indispensável para os produtos de software. O objetivo dessa dissertação de mestrado é realizar e apresentar um estudo empírico sobre usabilidade do ambiente de ensino à distância Moodle sob a perspectiva de professores que utilizam esse ambiente para apoiar suas atividades didáticas. Para a realização desse objetivo, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica sobre usabilidade de software, definição de um modelo de avaliação, definição e condução de um estudo empírico para a avaliação de usabilidade do Moodle e, por fim, a análise dos resultados obtidos através do estudo empírico e apresentação das conclusões do estudo. Os resultados obtidos sugerem que o ambiente Moodle possui, de maneira geral, um bom nível de usabilidade, pois 69,45% das respostas da pesquisa foram atribuídas às alternativas que indicam a concordância dos participantes em relação às questões afirmativas apresentadas. Das demais respostas, 15,78% foi atribuído às alternativas que caracterizam discordância dos participantes em relação às questões afirmativas e 14,77% foi atribuído à alternativa que indica a neutralidade dos participantes em relação às questões afirmativas apresentadas. Espera-se que esta dissertação de mestrado contribua para a melhoria da qualidade do Ambiente Moodle, para a realização de novos estudos empíricos sobre usabilidade de software, para engenharia de requisitos, qualidade de software e engenharia de software em geral.
Abstract
Nowadays, usability is considered an indispensable quality attribute for software products. The goal of this work is to perform and present an empirical study on the usability of the Moodle, a distant learning system, under the perspective of the teachers who use the Moodle to support their activities. To achieve this goal, the following activities were conducted: a bibliographical review of relevant works about software usability; definition of an model for usability evaluation; definition and application of an empirical study to evaluate the usability of the Moodle system; and analysis of the results of the empirical study and discussion of the conclusions. The obtained results suggest that the Moodle, a distant learning system, contain, in general way, a good level of usability, therefore 69,45% of the answers of the research were attributed to the alternatives that indicate the agreement of the participants in relation to the presented affirmative questions. Of the too much answers, 15,78% were attributed to the alternatives that characterize the participants disagreement in relation to the affirmative questions and 14,77% were attributed to the alternative that indicates the neutrality of the participants in relation to the presented affirmative questions. Expects that this Master Dissertation contribute to the Moodle quality improvement, the realization of new empirical studies about software usability, requirements engineering, software quality and software engineering in general.
