Resumo
O sistema MRP (Material Requirements Planning - Planejamento de Necessidade de Materiais) surgiu no final da década de 1960 como uma ferramenta computacional pioneira a serviço da gestão da produção, tratando efetivamente da complexa questão do planejamento das necessidades de materiais. Por sua vez, o sistema ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning - Planejamento dos Recursos da Empresa), surgiu na década de 1990 e logo se tornou uma poderosa ferramenta contemporânea a serviço não apenas da gestão da produção, mas de toda a gestão empresarial. Nesse contexto, este trabalho aborda o funcionamento do MRP e sua evolução até chegar aos ERP, passando por um estágio intermediário na década de 1980, chamado de sistema MRPII (Manufacturing Resources Planning – Planejamento das Necessidades de Manufatura). O trabalho evidencia a migração do sistema MRP para um módulo do MRP II, e, finalmente, como uma atividade ou uma simples rotina dentro do ERP. A base do trabalho é um estudo de caso que trata da implementação de um ERP em uma empresa metalúrgica de pequeno porte, focando, especificamente, a implementação de um sistema MRP no contexto atual do ERP, suas funcionalidades, principais resultados e dificuldades.
Abstract
The MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system emerged in the late 1960s as a pioneered computational tool in order to help the service of production management, effectively addressing the complex issue of planning material requirements. In turn, the ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) system emerged in the 1990s and soon became a powerful tool for the contemporary service not only to production management, but the whole business management. In this context, the research addresses the operation of MRP and its evolution to reach the ERP, passing through an intermediate stage in the 1980s, called MRPII (Manufacturing Resources Planning) system. The research shows the migration of MRP system to a module of MRP II and finally as an activity or a simple routine in the ERP. The study is complemented by a case study dealing with the implementation of an ERP in a small metallurgical company, focusing on the implementation of an MRP system in the current context of ERP, highlighting its functionality, the main results and difficulties.
