AVALIAÇÃO DA IMPLANTAÇÃO DO MPS.BR: UM ESTUDO EMPÍRICO SOBRE BENEFÍCIOS, DIFICULDADES E FATORES DE SUCESSO

Resumo
A competitividade atual entre as empresas de desenvolvimento de software, vem fazendo com que a busca constante de melhoria em seus processos e produtos seja cada vez mais intensa. O objetivo primordial deste trabalho é analisar o modelo MPS.BR, visando identificar os benefícios, fatores de sucesso e dificuldades de sua implantação em empresas que o adotam. Para atender a este objetivo, foram estudados os principais modelos de qualidade de software, que serviram como base para a elaboração do modelo MPS.BR. Os benefícios, fatores de sucesso e dificuldades relacionados à implantação do modelo MPS.BR foram identificados por meio de uma pesquisa, realizada no 2º semestre de 2008, envolvendo empresas do estado de São Paulo que já foram avaliadas segundo o modelo enfocado. Os resultados obtidos na pesquisa sugerem que o modelo MPS.BR traz benefícios às empresas que o adotam, pois 86,51% das respostas da pesquisa foram concordantes. No entanto alguns dos quesitos referentes às dificuldades da implantação do MPS.BR foram negados pelos participantes, tendo 37,50% de concordância e 49,55% de discordância. Os resultados e conclusões obtidas neste trabalho serão encaminhados às empresas participantes, para que elas possam ter uma visão geral da utilização do modelo MPS.BR no Brasil. Essa visão poderá ser útil para passos futuros rumo à melhoria constante de seus processos e produtos.
Abstract
The current competitiveness among software development companies is making the constant search for improvement, in their processes and products, is increased. The primordial target of this study is to analyze the MPS.BR model, aiding to identify the benefits, success factors and difficulties of its implementation in companies that adopt it. To achieve this goal, we studied the major quality of software models, which served as basis for the MPS.BR model development. The benefits, success factors and difficulties related to the MPS.BR model implantation were identified through a search, held in the 2nd half of 2008, involving companies in São Paulo State that have been evaluated according to the model focused. The results gotten in the search suggest that the MPS.BR model brings benefits to companies that adopt it, because 86.51% of the survey responses were consistent. However some of the questions relating to the difficulties of the MPS.BR implantation were denied by the participants, taking 37.50% of agreement and 49.55% of disagreement. The results and conclusions obtained in this study will be forwarded to the participating companies, so they can have an overview of the use of the MPS.BR model in Brazil. That vision may be useful for future steps towards the constant improvement of its processes and products.
