Resumo
Este trabalho tem como foco de investigação Tradutores Intérpretes de Língua Brasileira de Sinais/TILS que atuam no Ensino Superior (ES), com ênfase em sua formação e práticas. A partir de uma construção teórico-metodológica de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa, a investigação se desenvolveu apoiada em respostas de 37 (trinta e sete) entrevistados de diferentes cursos e diferentes Instituições de Ensino Superior do país, que foram localizados, sobretudo, através de contatos à distância (telefone, e-mail, e outros meios disponibilizados via internet). A opção pela técnica de entrevistas considerou o conceito de prática discursiva de Bakhtin (1997) e as análises obtidas acerca da atuação dos TILS mostram vários aspectos relevantes que interferem em sua atuação profissional relacionados a: certificações ou formação de TILS, dificuldades e desafios para atuarem como TILS, relações com outros profissionais, valorização desta profissão, exigências para formar e contratar TILS no ES, entre outras. Embora recente, esta profissão tem se caracterizado por um perfil complexo e repleto de indagações para toda a comunidade educacional brasileira, em particular, para aqueles interessados pela educação de surdos. São poucos os documentos que tratam da história e das atividades desenvolvidas por essa figura profissional e o fato de a profissão não estar regulamentada, favorece uma grande diversidade de exigências e competências solicitadas a estes profissionais. Assim, pois, neste trabalho, procuramos apresentar e discutir algumas evidências concretas de como tais profissionais, que hoje estão em ação no mercado de trabalho, se posicionam quando questionados sobre o que é ser um TILS. A premissa norteadora da pesquisa é a atuação do TILS, que não se restringe apenas a interpretar e passar conteúdos de uma língua para outra, mas se reflete inclusive nas questões históricas que envolvem este profissional. Neste contexto e baseando-nos nas entrevistas, podemos observar perfis bastante variados e especificidades nos processos de escolha e de formação para se atuar nesta profissão como intérpretes.
Abstract
The investigation‘s focus of this thesis is the Interpreters of Brazilian Sign Language who act in College, emphasizing their practice and educational background. Based on a qualitative and quantitative theoretical-methodological construction of, this investigation is supported by 37 (thirty seven) key, interviews answers of 37 subjects who work at several College Institutions and courses of the country. They were all mainly reached by distance contact (phone, e-mail, and other internet means). The interview‘s technique optin took into consideration Bakhtin‘s (1997) discursive practice concept. The analysis obtained the SLTI answers about their work show relevant aspects that interfere in his professional work related to: Brazilian Sign Language Interpreter educacional background or certification, Brazilian Sign Language Interpreter difficulties and challenges, interactions with other professionals, valorization of this profession, and the demands to prepare and hire Brazilian Sign Language Interpreter for College. Despite the fact that this profession is recent, it has a complex profile full of investigative questions for the Brazilian educational community, and in particular, those interested in the education of the deaf. There are few documentations that illustrate this profession‘s history and activity and the fact of it hás not been regulated, leads to a great diversity of demands and competencies towards these professionals. Therefore, in this investigation, we focused on presenting and discussing some concrete evidences of how this professionals, nowadays is in activity, responds when questioned about being a Brazilian Sign Language Interpreter. The main discussion of this investigation is that the Brazilian Sign Language Interpreter job is not restrained to interpreting and sending contents from one language to another, but it also reflects historic themes that involve this profession. Based on the interviews, we can observe that there are many different professional profiles, showing that there is a diversity of specificities in the process of choosing and aquiring educational background in order to act as a professional interpreter.
