Resumo
A presente pesquisa refere-se às Políticas Públicas para a Educação Infantil no município de Piracicaba no período de implantação do ensino fundamental sob vigência do Fundo de Manutenção e Desenvolvimento do Ensino Fundamental e de valorização do Magistério – FUNDEF (1998 a 2006). Com a criação do fundo, os recursos financeiros são destinados ao ensino fundamental diminuindo os investimentos na educação infantil. O estudo analisa como a Secretaria Municipal de Educação deu continuidade à organização e manutenção da educação infantil no município no período citado. Para o desenvolvimento do trabalho realizamos levantamento bibliográfico sobre o assunto; leitura e fichamentos dos estudos realizados; análise de documentos do Departamento de Educação Básica da Secretaria de Educação de Piracicaba e de documentos federais e municipais referentes à temática. Verificamos que ao longo dos anos as diferentes administrações se dedicaram à manutenção e ampliação da educação infantil no município. No entanto, apesar da ampliação das matrículas a demanda não atendida é bem maior.
Abstract
This research refers to the Public Policy for Early Childhood Education in Piracicaba during the deployment duration of primary education under the Fund for Maintenance and Development of Fundamental Education and Valorization of Teachers - FUNDEF (1998-2006). With the creation of the fund, financial resources are allocated to primary education by reducing investments in education. The study examines how the City Department of Education continued the organization and maintenance of early childhood education in the county in that period. To develop the work carried out literature on the subject, and annotated reading of studies, analysis of documents from the Department of Education’s Basic Education Department of Piracicaba and documents relating to federal and municipal issues. We found that over the years different administrations have devoted themselves to the maintenance and expansion of early childhood education in the county. However, despite the increase in enrollment the unmet demand is much greater.
