Resumo
O objetivo da pesquisa é a aplicação da Realidade Virtual na melhoria dos serviços oferecidos pela empresa Brasil Ferrovias S.A.. Esta empresa é uma holding que oferece serviços de transporte de cargas nas regiões sul, sudeste, oeste e centro-oeste, com sede na região sudeste, atendendo dezenas de outras empresas. Atualmente, ela não oferece serviço de acesso a dados on-line ou via Internet para os seus clientes, e os dados de seus relatórios encerram pouco tratamento no sentido de facilitar a interpretação. A pequisa melhorou esses serviços com o uso de técnicas de desenvolvimento de aplicações para a Realidade Virtual e para a WEB, abrangendo a geração de páginas WEB geradas dinamicamente, sob demanda, a partir de dados armazenados no banco de dados da empresa. As solicitações dos clientes e funcionários da empresa podem gerar documentos em forma de tabela ou em forma de gráficos dinâmicos modelados em Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML). O texto VRML caracteriza um modelo de interface no qual os dados não são transportados, mas as informações a respeito desses dados. Isto permite a visualização de tais informações com dispositivos de Realidade Virtual, melhorando a interface com os usuários da empresa.
Abstract
The aim of this research is the introduction of Virtual Reality for the improvement of services provided by Brasil Ferrovias S.A. This is a Holding Co. that provides cargo shipping services in the south, southeast, west and midwest of Brazil. Its head office is based in the country's southeast, and they have deals with many other companies. Currently it hasn't provided its clients with on-line data services or via Internet and its reports present few sense of facilitating the interpretation. This research improved of these services by applying development techniques for Virtual Reality and for the WEB, including the creation of WEB pages under demand, which can be done based on the company's stored data. The requests of the customers and employees of the company can generate documents in chart form or in form of dynamic graphs modeled in Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML). The VRML text features an interface model in which data are not sent; instead, the information about them. This will lead to the visualization of such information through Virtual Reality features and therefore will improve the interface with the users company.
